Golden Tigershark Group: 

Swimmers exhibit competency in all four strokes.  Focus on development of endurance, strength, speed, and understanding of training methods with continued emphasis on technique maintenance.  Golden Tigersharks focus on both individual successes as well as team camaraderie, with emphasis on leadership and modeling good sportsmanship. 

Minimum requirements: 

  • Competence in all four strokes
  • Minimum 1000 yd swim
  • 30 minute test set established 
  • Minimum 50 free time:  Girls: 32.00  Boys: 27.00

Silver Tigershark Group: 

Swimmers exhibit limited competency in all four strokes, meeting minimum stroke requirements.  Focus is on continued development of skills, increasing endurance, strength, and speed. Silver Tigersharks focus on developing an understanding of the value of nutrition and daily training, the nature of competition, as well as their role in team camaraderie and sportsmanship. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Limited competence in all four strokes
  • Complete (nonstop) 1000 yd. swim
  • Minimum 50 free time:  Girls: 34.2  Boys: 32.0

8:30-9:30 (9:45) am M-F

Bronze Tigershark Group: 

Swimmers exhibit emerging development in the four strokes, though there may be deficiencies in one or more technical areas.  Focus is on stroke development to meet the minimum guidelines of the legal definition of all four strokes, while improving endurance, strength and speed.  Bronze Tigersharks will focus on developing technique, understanding the relationship between daily training and competition, as well as an understanding of camaraderie and sportsmanship.  

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Competence in freestyle AND Emerging understanding of ALL strokes
  • Complete 600 yd swim
  • Minimum 50 free time:  Girls: 44.56  Boys: 43.00

9:30-10:15 am M-F

Golden Dorsal Fin Group: 

Swimmers exhibit limited competency in freestyle and a basic familiarity of all strokes, though there are deficiencies in several areas.  Strength and endurance are somewhat limited.  Focus is on overall stroke development, including body position and bilateral breathing, endurance and consistency of performance.  Golden Dorsal Fins are learning about competition and participating in team sports.  They will focus on learning the etiquette of competition as well as developing a sense of personal achievement.  

Minimum Requirements:

  • Some competence in freestyle AND emerging understanding of one or more other strokes
  • Complete 200 yd swim

9:45-10:15 am

Silver Dorsal Fin Group: 

Swimmers exhibit a basic familiarity with freestyle only.  Swimmers are continuing to develop their bilateral breathing and body position in support of their freestyle technique. Silver Dorsal Fins focus on developing overall competency in freestyle and an introduction to the other strokes.  Silver Dorsal Fins will focus on learning to dive and complete a competition successfully, and follow basic competition etiquette.

 Minimum Requirements:

  • Limited competency in freestyle
  • Complete 25 yd. swims

9:45-10:15 am

Bronze Dorsal Fin Group: 

Swimmers have limited familiarity with body position and bilateral breathing.  Focus is on controlling body position in the water, efficient breathing, kick development and coordination of arm / leg motion.  This Readiness Group will focus on developing the skills to complete minimum competition requirements.  Bronze Dorsal Fins will focus on learning basic coordination, proper kicking, breathing and arm motion that insure the safe locomotion through the water.
